At Cavehill Dental Care we have a great deal of experience in the placement of implants. All of our dentists are members of the Association of Dental Implantology UK. We take great pride in our ability to give patients back their smile and their confidence after having lost one or many of their natural teeth.
A dental implant is essentially a substitute for a natural root and commonly it is a screw, which is cylinder shaped. Each implant is placed into a socket carefully drilled at the precise location of the intended tooth. The main aim during installation of any implant is to achieve immediate close contact with the surrounding bone. This creates an initial stability, which over time is steadily enhanced by further growth of bone into microscopic roughness on the implant surface.

Three to four months after implant placement, we can restore the implants with crowns, bridges or dentures. In some cases, we are even able to make a restoration immediately upon placement.
Once permanently fitted, implant supported dentures, crowns and bridges will give you back the function and confidence you had with your natural teeth. You will look better as we can make your restoration look very natural with excellent aesthetics, thus greatly enhancing your smile. You will also find eating and speaking much easier as you will not have to worry about old dentures slipping and sliding in your mouth again.
